Discovering piano music Part of the joy of learning the piano is discovering new pieces and styles. I encourage pupils to explore and listen to different styles of piano music. For each pupil this is part of their own personal musical journey. Even though some pieces they listen to may be beyond their current playing ability, I highlight the stepping stones that would enable them to eventually play them.
Personalised learning I tailor each pupil's learning according to their ability, musical preferences and aspirations. These factors change with time and I develop teaching programmes that are flexible but at the same time follow a clear and structured learning path.

Graded Piano Exams Pupils may choose to study for the graded piano exams (ABRSM). These can be a useful aid to learning to play the piano. The choice of pieces and musical styles available within each grade means that students are usually able to choose music that they find stimulating and rewarding.
Location of lessons I am happy to teach lessons in pupils' own homes or alternatively at my own residence. I will also teach in schools by arrangement.
